Abstract
This study aims to examine historical values based on local wisdom, which is the customary law of Megou Pa’ Tulang Bawang. Megou Pa’ is a customary law which contains a set of rules for the life of the Lampung people in society. One of the rules that gets full attention in Megou Pa’ is about the association of teenagers. So that by integrating local wisdom in the design of the formation of the life and association of children in learning and providing knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that are in line with the values contained in the Megou Pa’ customary law. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. This research is expected so that students can recognize local wisdom which is full of meanings contained in the customary law of Megou Pa’.
1. INTRODUCTION
The development of the times brought great changes in human life, there was a shift in the values that existed in society, especially behavior in adolescent relationships. Currently, the association of teenagers makes its own concern for the community because it is not uncommon for teenagers to often fall intoinappropriate actions and can violate the boundaries of moral and religious values that lead to juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency is very worrying, forms of juvenile delinquency include pornography, drugs, crime, and the most common among teenagers is premarital sexual intercourse (Hisan, 2017: 158-159). This will certainly have an impact on increasing the poverty rate of children out of wedlock and increasing the number of single parents as the cause of the highest child poverty rate (Rector, 2010: 4).
Mehra, Priyanka, Jagannath and Sunil (2018: 2), Blystad, Karen, Ecloss, Ingvild and Joseph (2020: 6) in more detail state that pregnancy is the most frequently discussed reason for dropping out of school and resulting in a continuous cycle of poverty. Various ways have been done to reduce the level of juvenile delinquency, but these efforts have not been able to cope with juvenile delinquency. Munir, Basir and Maretha (2021: 207) state that local wisdom is a cultural element that must be explored, studied, and revitalized because its essence is so important in strengthening the foundation of national identity in facing the challenges of globalization. One of the local wisdom that contains values that can be used as a means of strengthening the foundation of national identity in facing the challenges of globalization is the customary law of Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang.
The local wisdom of the Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang customary law is one of the subsystems of the indigenous peoples of the Lampung region. As the customary law of Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang as stated in the book Pelatoeran Sepandjang Hadat Lampong (PSHL), it is a customary law that contains a set of rules for the life of the people of Lampung in society. One of the rules that receive full attention in the Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang tradition is about adolescent association (Sulistiawati, 2017: 112). This value is reflected in the form of a series of rules or customary law in associating and regulating boundaries between men and women which are divided into articles that are arranged in such a way.
The Megou Pa' Customary Law also provides attitudes and behaviors that are in line with the prevailing norms in Indonesia. So that when foreign cultural influences enter, students will filter whether this can have a good or bad impact on themselves and be critical of something new (Sulistiawati, 2017: 112). The historical values contained in the Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang custom are also expected to add insight into educational knowledge for students at the school level. As happened in historical learning in schools, that among the goals of education is personality or character formation. Kartodirjo (2014: 2) explains that awareness of historical values towards something means being aware of what is being observed and being aware of the process of observing it. Historical learning resources themselves based on local wisdom can motivate students and their motivation to want to know more about historical (Prananda, 2018: 78). Realizing the importance of preventive measures against shifts in values that exist in society, especially behavior in relationships among teenagers. So researchers are interested to do the research and find the answer “Local Wisdom Megou Pa' as a Source of Historical Learning”.
4. CONCLUSION
Historical locality is a form of identity or identity of a person's life, one of which is the customary law of Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang as a source of historical learning by equipping attitudes and behaviors that are in line with the norms prevailing in Indonesia. So that when foreign cultural influences enter, students will filter whether this can have a good or bad impact on themselves and be critical of something new. With the understanding that traditional societies may only act according to the immediate challenges they find, modern society cannot be fixated on the present. Local historical provides lessons to face the challenges that will come, answered that there are times when it succeeds and can also fail.
The local wisdom of the traditional law of Megou Pa' Tulang Bawang is one of the subsystems of the indigenous peoples of the Lampung region which is contained in the book Pelatoeran Sepandjang Hadat Lampong (PSHL) which contains a set of rules for the life of the Lampung people in society. Megou Pa' customary law is very relevant to be used as a source of learning in local historical learning because it contains values thatprioritize the order of community life and can equip students attitudes and behaviors that are in line with prevailing norms in Indonesia in order to deal with the current conditions moral crisis like today.
